Spiritu

Spiritu brings together Italy, where I spent time, and Portugal, where my sister was living. The writing comes from a historic letter in my father-in-law’s collection. During a visit, he shared some of these letters with me and let me photograph them.

Photographic images are transferred onto the reverse of the glass, leaving the piece translucent, while a crackled gold-leaf border on the front is sealed with varnish.
